Solid Pyrolysis Residue Analysis

Various analysis options are available at the ITC for the solid residues produced during plastics pyrolysis in addition to the product gases & condensates. The first processing step is usually sieving.
Possible analyses include:

• Determination of organic and ash content by means of ashing
• Determination of calorific value by bomb calorimetry
• Thermogravimetric analysis
• Elemental analysis (C, H, N, S) > 1 wt.%
• Heteroatom analysis (F, Cl, Br, S) through combustion ion chromatography (C-IC) < 1 wt.%
