Pyrolysis Plant STYX

Understanding the complex phenomena that occur during plastics pyrolysis is crucial for process optimization and scale-up. The technical scale pyrolysis reactor STYX and multiple small-scale test facilities provide a controlled environment to conduct detailed investigations into the fundamental aspects of pyrolysis. Key parameters such as temperature, residence time, and feedstock composition are investigated to gain valuable insights into the pyrolysis process. Furthermore, mass and energy balances can be derived. This knowledge enables the development of robust models and strategies for larger-scale applications. In the Feed Preparation Lab, various systems are available for the individual conditioning of a wide variety of pyrolysis feedstocks.
